THE Best Prawn Cakes Ever

Do you like a good prawn cake? I certainly do. But I don’t like them deep fried not just because they’re fried in massive amounts of oil but also because I could be eating anything – all the flavour is lost in the deep frying process. I love the flavour of prawns in all their prawny prawness and prefer my prawn cakes to taste like, well prawns…..


And so I like to keep it simple, highlighting the flavours and keeping it light and yum. But I guess you’re still wondering what makes my prawn cakes THE best ever (besides not being deep fried). Oh let me count the ways:

  1. They taste like prawns – a bonus
  2. They’re deliciously juicy – a big bonus
  3. They’re low fat – a massive bonus
  4. You can make 3 dishes with one recipe – the ultimate bonus!

Yep, you can use the same recipe and divide the mixture in different proportions to make:

  • Nibblies/hors d’oeuvres (little prawn cakes with drinks)
  • Dinner (a couple of prawn cakes with a salad is hard to beat)
  • Burgers (make large patties and enjoy the best burger you’re likely to have in a while).

Do I need to say more? Okay, just one last thing – if you leave now, you might just make it to the market to buy those prawns…..
