I’ve just been asked to blog off!

No, it’s not a rude request but a rather a challenge (I love a good challenge). Gourmet Garden, those makers of herby goodness in a tube, has invited food bloggers to a Blog Off of herbiferously epic proportions. The challenge? Get down and herby using Gourmet Garden herbs and spices in our everyday cooking.

It’s no secret that I love herbs and spices; my recipes are littered with proof. In fact, I have just waxed lyrical about herbs over on Kidspot’s Village Voices. That’s how much I love herbs and so this challenge shouldn’t be so much of a challenge for me. I must admit to never having used Gourmet Garden’s herbs before though. I grow my own fresh seasonal herbs and use dried options for particular dishes: needless to say, I’m curious.

For the next week I’ll be blogging every day about what I cooked the night before with recipes, photos and tips. It’s going to be herby and delish and best of all, you won’t have to agonise over what you’re going to cook for dinner because it’ll right there in your inbox. You could even cook along with me and let me know what you think – love a bit of feedback…

Here’s a sneak peak at what’s on the menu:

  • Moroccan Lamb Stew with Doughboys – warm, spicy and gorgeous
  • Won Ton Soup – one my daughters’ fave dinners and so easy to make
  • Steamed Lemongrass Puds with Ginger Syrup – we must have something sweet, right?
  • Chickpea Meatballs with Spicy Tomato Sauce – sometimes you just gotta go vego
  • Poached Fish in Fragrant Herb Broth – light, healthy and really filling
  • Portobello Mushrooms on Herby Toast – eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

I’m also thinking about doing a seasoned roast chicken. What do you think? Let me know if you want to see lovely golden roast chicken on the menu and I’ll cook it for you.
