Easy Chocolate Treats for Christmas

Confession No 15: Girls are made of sugar and spice

You know, I’m not so sure about that but we certainly do eat a lot of it. Perhaps it should be “Girls crave sugar and spice”.
I don’t really have a sweet tooth. I’m more of a savoury girl. Put a bowl of chips in front of me or a cheeseboard and I’ll dive in with both hands, refusing to come up for air until it’s all gone. But there is something to be said for the feeling I get from a chocolate brownie, slice of creamy cheesecake or entire bag of raspberry bullets that I don’t get from anything else. Why is that?

It could be because:
It’s naughty – a flash of rebellion, an anarchistic indulgence, a Johnny Rotten moment
It’s comforting – the only thing that’s going to make me feel better when I feel like crap
It never disappoints – a treasured friend who understands EVERYTHING
It’s hormonal – I neeeeed it otherwise the world just might destruct. NOW!

Whatever it is, it’s a good thing and needs to be done. Without guilt – never with guilt. Especially at Christmas. It’s a time to relax a little, to let go, to indulge. It’s a promise I make every year – chill out, enjoy yourself and do damage control later. Much later sometimes…..
This year I’m starting early with a little sugar and spice, oh and chocolate. Feast your eyes my friends on these gorgeous no-bake beauties. Feast, then make, then eat! Bugger the cake, let them eat chocolate!

Do you have a sweet tooth?
Are you naughty, comforted, in need of a friend or hormonal? (I just might be all four today…..)
