Chocolate Rice Pudding with Raspberry Coulis

Confession No 13: 7 Things I Want For Christmas

Every year the girls and I write a present list for ourselves. It’s an organic list that moves and changes as we acquire the objects of our desire or remove them in a fit of fickleness for something much better. We keep these lists of hope on the fridge where they can’t be missed by anyone.

When it comes close to a birthday, Christmas or any other present-receiving opportunity, our lists are polished to a brilliant shine with new paper and extra neat writing with each item listed in the order of importance. Some of us even increase the size of the paper and font size to make sure there can’t be any mistakes. I think this is a little flashy and OTT but I’ll not say any more on the subject.

You can imagine how much polishing of lists is going on in our house this close to Christmas. There’s not a moment that goes by that we’re not thinking, plotting, planning and jockeying for prime fridge real estate. John refuses to enter into our little game, preferring to tell us what he wants at the last minute. Mmmmm, hope Santa doesn’t bring him undies, socks and hankies this year….. Can you see why a list is important? I love reading other people’s lists so I thought I’d share mine with you.
